The grant provides electric vehicle (EV) drivers with support towards the costs of the purchase and installation of EV chargepoints at residential properties if they are also installing a cross-pavement charging solution (e.g. a cable channel).You can get 75% off the cost to buy and install a socket, up to a maximum of £500.
You can apply for this grant if you:
Have not already installed your chargepoint (as this grant cannot be backdated)
Own or rent a residential property in which you live
Will install a cross-pavement charging solution alongside the chargepoint (for you to be eligible for this grant the cross-pavement solution must not be a temporary solution, such as cable covers or mats which can be placed on top of a cable)
Do not have private and exclusive access to off-street parking such as a driveway, garage or residential car park
Have adequate on-street parking
Have permission from your local highways authority for the installation of the cross-pavement charging solution. You must also declare in your application that you will obtain planning permissions as required by your local planning authority
Own or are responsible for an eligible vehicle
Your property must be located in England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland. If your property is in the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man, it is not eligible.
This grant supports the cost of purchasing and installing EV chargepoints at residential properties, but only when a cross-pavement charging solution (such as a permanent cable channel) is also installed. Temporary solutions like mats or cable covers are not eligible.
You must obtain all necessary approvals before applying and installing:
You must not install anything on public roads yourself, and approval depends on your local authority.
To apply for the grant, you must first obtain any necessary third-party permissions (such as from a landlord, freeholder, managing agent, or private road owner).
